Links Are Dead - I Know

I keep getting Emails from people asking me to re-upload the links and music etc. I think people are just getting to those particular pages so are not reading the reason for the dead links.

So I am putting this in place so hopefully people will read it and stop Emailing me about it.

The reason the links are dead is that my account with Media Fire has been closed with all 11,000 files lost. That is why you can not download the things and No I can not re-upload them.

Eventually I will start doing that again when I have found something suitable. In the meantime this blog will be information only blog.

Thank you all

Michaael

The Anti-Heroin Project - Live In World

'Live in World' was released as a single in 1986 by The Anti-Heroin Project which consisted of Fish, Nik Kershaw, Cliff Richard, Dave Stewart, Holly Johnson, Robin Gibb, Kim Wilde and many others who all contributed their voices and music to the project.

The Eighties saw an explosion of charity records following on from the lead of Band Aid and Live Aid.

'Live in World' was taken from the double album released under the project name that contained various artists that contributed their work in support of the benefit The Phoenix House Charity which was a drug rehabilitation centre. The single was the track that contained vocals from over fifty artists, that took place on the 7th September, on a new song written by Charley Foskett. The Anti-Heroin Project was not very successful: neither the single nor the album charted.

I have to say that I did not ge the album when it was released. This was strange as it contains artists that I was heavilly collecting at the time so I'm not sure why this passed me by. If any one has the album to share then I would be greatul.

Dave Stewart And Barbara Gaskin - I'm In a Different World

1984 saw the 6th single release by Dave Stewart and Barbara Gaskin called 'I'm in a Different World' and is included on their 'Up from the Dark' album rleased the following year.
This is a ballad and is a pleasent song. Could not find if this charted at all. I don't think it did. Again can not remember if there ever was a video made. If any one knows these information let me know so I can add it here. Thank you.

Dave Stewart And Barbara Gaskin - It's My Party

'It's My Party' was originally released by American singer Lesley Gore in 1963. This song hit number 1 on both the pop and rhythm and blues charts in the United States. In the U.K. 'It's My Party', peaked at number 9, becoming Gore's only major hit in the U.K.

In 1981 Dave Stewart recruited friend and former Hatfield backing vocalist Barbara Gaskin to record a version of the '60s teen lament 'It's My Party'. Released in the autumn of 1981, the single reached number 1 in Britain and Germany and topped the UK charts for four weeks.

The video also included Barbara Gaskins close friend Thomas Dolby as the man she has lost and is crying for,

Dave Stewart And Barbara Gaskin - Locomotion

I had a request for this a while ago from Boom (sorry for delay)and it has taken me a little time to put it up here. I was putting up the 'it's My Party' track (that's the next one) as I just loved that but decided to kick off with this one instead. Hope you like it.

'The Loco-Motion' is a 1962 popular music song written by American songwriters Gerry Goffin and Carole King. The song is notable for appearing in the American Top 5 three times – each time in a different decade: for Eva Boyd (under the stage name Little Eva) during 1962 (U.S. number 1); for Grand Funk Railroad in 1974 (U.S. number 1); and for Kylie Minogue in 1988 (U.S. number 3, number 2 in the UK).

However there is a lesser know version. Dave Stewart and Barbara Gaskin recorded their version of the song in 1986. It became the duo's last hit, reaching number 70 on the UK singles chart.

Don't know if a video was ever made for this. If there is one and someone is willing to share then please let me know.
