Melissa Manchester - Mathmatics - Album

Melissa Manchester (born February 15, 1951) is an American singer-songwriter and actress.

Beginning in the 1970s, she has recorded generally in the adult contemporary genre.

She has also appeared as an actress on television, in films, and on stage.

In 1985 Manchester released her 15th Studio Album entitled 'Mathmatics'. The album made it to number 144 in the US Album charts.

Melissa Manchester - Thief Of Hearts - Single

Melissa Manchester was born in the Bronx area of New York city to a musical family of Jewish descent. Her father was a bassoonist for the New York Metropolitan Opera. Manchester started a singing career at an early age, learning the piano and harpsichord at the Manhattan School of Music and Arts, singing commercial jingles at age 15, and becoming a staff writer for Chappell Music while attending Manhattan's High School of Performing Arts.

'Thief of Hearts' is From the 1984 film produced by Don Simpson and Jerry Bruckheimer. The song reached number 86 on the Billboard Hot 100 and number 18 on the US Adult Contemporary Chart. The dance version is remixed by legendary remixer John "Jellybean" Benitez. And the song was Produced by, Giorgio Moroder and Harold Faltermeyer. The single was not released in the UK but was released in Germany and Spain.

Harold Faltermeyer - Thief Of Hearts - Soundtrack

Thief of Hearts is a 1984 film produced by Don Simpson and Jerry Bruckheimer. It was written and directed by Douglas Day Stewart.
A burglar; Scott (Steven Bauer), robs the home of a couple. One of the items he takes is the wife's (Barbara Williams) diary. Scott begins to read the diary and discovers that the wife, Mickey, yearns for a more interesting life. The diary is full of her fantasies and dreams, and soon Scott plans to turn these into reality. Scott uses his inside knowledge to seduce Mickey, and the forbidden romance blossoms. This movie also stars a very young David Caruso.

Harold Faltermeyer was writting music for movies when early on in his career he created arguably one of his finest works for the 1984's Thief Of Hearts film (a highly sought after CD with noteworthy electronic scoring and songs for Melissa Manchester, Annabella Lwin, Elizabeth Daily and others).

I had not heard of this movie or it's soundtrack at the time untill I bought the film for Mark as he loved the music and movie. I enjoyed the movie but felt that the music was much better as it brings in good songs and greats an atmosphere with the musical pieces. It took a while to finally get the soundtrack as it is very hard to find but here it is for you all. Hope you enjoy it.
