Links Are Dead - I Know

I keep getting Emails from people asking me to re-upload the links and music etc. I think people are just getting to those particular pages so are not reading the reason for the dead links.

So I am putting this in place so hopefully people will read it and stop Emailing me about it.

The reason the links are dead is that my account with Media Fire has been closed with all 11,000 files lost. That is why you can not download the things and No I can not re-upload them.

Eventually I will start doing that again when I have found something suitable. In the meantime this blog will be information only blog.

Thank you all

Michaael

Olivia Newton-John - Toughen Up

'Toughen Up' is a single released in 1986 by Olivia Newton-John. The single was released from the 'Soul Kiss' album.

In Australia the single managed to make it to number 93 on their singles chart. However the single failed to enter other singles charts around the world.

I do have a request with this single. I never got the 12 inch Extended version of this single as I only ever got the single itself. I know there is also an instrumental version of this that I am also missing. If any one has these and is willing to share please let me know thank you.

Janet Jackson - Funny How Time Flies

'Funny How Time Flies (When You're Having Fun)' is the seventh and final single from American R&B singer Janet Jackson's third studio album, Control (1986).

While 'Funny How Time Flies (When You're Having Fun)' was officially released in the United Kingdom and Australia, it went for airplay single in the United States in 1987.

The song was written by Jackson and collaborators/producers Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis. It performed poorly on the UK Singles Chart, only reaching number fifty-nine. In the U.S., though it never charted, it became a famed quiet storm staple on adult R&B radio stations.

No music video was filmed for the single. For the first time, Jackson included the song on her 2008 Rock Witchu Tour.

Olivia Newton-John - New Single

I have also been contacted by the Austalian Creative Collective to let me know that Olivia Newton-John is to release a new single.

It is a remake of her classic from 1980 entitled 'Magic'.

Here is the information that I was sent:

We're Australian Creative Collective (WACCI) have been raising funds for the Olivia Newton-John Cancer & Wellness Centre through a variety of initiatives. The latest project is a charity single.

WACCI enlisted two Aussies - DJ Dan Murphy & producer Steve Peach - to create an updated dance version of the 1980 Number 1 hit.

Olivia went back to the studio to re-sing the vocals and the new version is an uplifting slice of radio-friendly pop!

Everybody working on this project has volunteered their time & talent, and all proceeds are being donated to Olivia's charity.

Olivia will present the world premiere of the song on Dancing With The Stars on Sunday May 22nd.

It will also be released exclusively on iTunes on Sunday May 22nd.

So again get out there and start downloading purchasing this track for a worthwhile cause.

Olivia Newton-John - Physical - Album

Physical is an album by the Australian singer Olivia Newton-John, released in 1981.

It was certified double platinum, peaking at Nnumber 6 on the Billboard albums chart. This was also Newton-John's first and only album to chart R&B, peaking at Noumber 32. With country music completely overlooked for this album, this unsurprisingly became Newton-John's first studio album not to chart country since her 1971 debut, If Not for You.

In the UK the album made it to number 11 in the Album Charts.

Physical is the best selling album by a female Australian singer, selling 10,000,000 copies worldwide.

The title track was Newton-John's biggest pop single ever spending 10 weeks atop Billboard's Hot 100. Physical tied Debby Boone's You Light Up My Life as the then longest running Number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 by a female artist. (Whitney Houston broke the record when I Will Always Love You spent 14 weeks atop the Hot 100). Physical also peaked at Number 29 AC and Number 28 R&B (her only entry on the R&B singles chart). The album also yielded the singles Make A Move On Me and Landslide.

Ttracklisting:
01 - Landslide
02 - Stranger's Touch
03 - Make a Move on Me
04 - Falling
05 - Love Make Me Strong
06 - Physical
07 - Silvery Rain
08 - Carried Away
09 - Recovery
10 - The Promise (The Dolphin Song)

Olivia Newton-John and ELO - Magic

'Magic' is a hit 1980 song performed by Olivia Newton-John, from the soundtrack to the film Xanadu. The song was Number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts for four weeks, from August 2 through August 29, 1980. It also reached a high of Number 2 on the Australian charts and Number 32 in the UK.

'Magic' became Newton-John's biggest Adult Contemporary hit to date. It also became Newton-John's biggest pop hit until 'Physical' ruled the Hot 100 for ten weeks beginning in November 1981.

Two B-sides exist depending on what label and continent the song was released. 'Fool Country' is the B-side of the MCA label release, which also features in the film "Xanadu" but was never released on The Original Motion Picture Soundtrack. 'Whenever You're Away From Me' with Gene Kelly is the B-side of the Jet label release.

ELO and Olivia Newton John - Xanadu

'Xanadu' is the title song from the album Xanadu, the soundtrack to the 1980 film of the same name.

The song is performed by the Electric Light Orchestra and Olivia Newton-John. Newton-John sings the primary vocals, with ELO adding "parenthetic" vocals in the style of their other songs on the 'Xanadu' soundtrack, along with providing the instrumentation.

A rare collaboration for ELO, the single reached number 1 in several countries and was the band's only UK number 1 single when it peaked there for two weeks in July 1980. The song peaked at number 8 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the US.

Olivia Newton John - Physical

'Physical' is a 1981 song written by Steve Kipner and Terry Shaddick and performed by Olivia Newton-John.

Recorded in early 1981, it made it to number 7 on the UK Singles Chart. However it was more of a success in the US where it first rose to number one on the Billboard Hot 100 in November 1981 and stayed there for 10 weeks, until near the end of January 1982. In terms of chart placement, it was the most popular single of her career, as well as her final number-one (to date). The US Billboard ranked it as the number one pop single of 1982 (since their chart year for 1982 actually began in November 1981), and it was also the most successful song on the Hot 100 during the entire decade of the 1980s.

The video featured a lusty Olivia, dressed in a tight leotard, working out in a gym with several overweight men, who eventually transform into attractive muscular young men. The gym setting may have been partly an attempt to divert attention from the overt sexual connotations of the term "physical". This was further emphasised by the twist comedy ending of the video, when the transformed men who are now oblivious to Newton-John's advances are ultimately revealed to be gay (this was also a source of controversy; MTV frequently cut the ending when it aired the video, and the sometimes sensuous nature of the video also led to it being banned outright by some broadcasters in Canada and the UK). The video won a Grammy Award for Video Of The Year in 1983 while the song was banned in South Africa for its suggestive lyrics.
