Links Are Dead - I Know

I keep getting Emails from people asking me to re-upload the links and music etc. I think people are just getting to those particular pages so are not reading the reason for the dead links.

So I am putting this in place so hopefully people will read it and stop Emailing me about it.

The reason the links are dead is that my account with Media Fire has been closed with all 11,000 files lost. That is why you can not download the things and No I can not re-upload them.

Eventually I will start doing that again when I have found something suitable. In the meantime this blog will be information only blog.

Thank you all

Michaael

Dream Acadamy - Dream Acadamy - Album

'The Dream Academy' is The Dream Academy's eponymous debut album, released in 1985. It was mainly produced by Pink Floyd's David Gilmour and Nick Laird-Clowes.

The most notable track from the album is 'Life in a Northern Town', which was written as a tribute to Nick Drake. It also proved to be their only major chart success, reaching number 15 in the UK Singles Chart and number 7 in the US.

The follow-up single, also from the album, 'The Love Parade' was not received as well as their debut single, reaching number 68 on thr UK Singles Chart and number 36 on the US Billboard Charts, but still received solid radio airplay.

Also of note is the song, 'The Edge of Forever', which plays in a prominent scene during the John Hughes film, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, resulting in many fans of 1980s films becoming more familiar with The Dream Academy's music.

Dream Acadamy - Life In A Northern Town

'Life in a Northern Town' is a song by The Dream Academy, a British folk rock group. The song is the first single from their 1985 self-titled debut, The Dream Academy.

The single reached nmber 15 on the UK Singles Chart and number 7 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart, it is also their highest-peaking chart single in the US.

The lyrics are references to Nick Drake, who died of an antidepressant overdose in 1974. The Dream Academy intended the song as a tribute to Drake.

There were two different versions of the music video. The first one was made in 1984 and was filmed in Hebden Bridge near Halifax in Yorkshire, UK. It was directed by Tim Pope. The second version was filmed in 1985 and was directed by Leslie Libman and Larry Williams. It was filmed in and around Newcastle upon Tyne with some scenes filmed in Manchester in the UK and in the USA. The video featured footage from one of their first TV appearances, on the British music show The Tube.
