Hall And Oats - I Can't Go For That

'I Can't Go for That (No Can Do)' is a song recorded by Daryl Hall and John Oates.

It was the fourth number-one hit single of their career on the Billboard Hot 100 and the second hit single from their album Private Eyes. It features Charles DeChant on saxello.

In the US the single was released in December 1981. However in the UK the single was not released until 1982.

On January 30, 1982, 'I Can't Go for That' ended a 10-week run at the top of the Hot 100 by Olivia Newton-John's song, 'Physical' (which had knocked out Hall & Oates' 'Private Eyes' from the top spot). The song also went to number one on the Hot Dance Club Play chart for one week in January 1982.

Thanks to heavy airplay on urban contemporary radio stations, 'I Can't Go for That' also topped the U.S. R and B chart, a rare feat for a non-African American act. According to the Hall and Oates biography, Hall, upon learning that 'I Can't Go For That' had gone to number one on the R and B chart, wrote in his diary, "I'm the head soul brother in the U.S. Where to now?"

In the UK the single was another hit as it reached number 8 on the UK Singles Chart.

Hall And Oates - Family Man

'Family Man' is a single originally by musician Mike Oldfield, released in 1982. It was released from the album Five Miles Out, with vocals performed by Maggie Reilly.

In 1983 the American duo Hall & Oates covered Oldfield's song and released as their 26th single release.

The single made it to number 6 on the US Hot 100 and number 15 in the UK singles Charts.

Daryl Hall and John Oates - Maneater

'Maneater' is a single recorded by American duo Hall & Oates from their 1982 album H2O. It reached number-one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1982. It remained in the top spot for four weeks. According to John Oates the inspiration for this song was English model and actress Kelly LeBrock.

The Hall & Oates music video opens with a woman, Aleksandra Duncan, walking down a red staircase, and the band playing in a dimly lit studio with shafts of light projecting down on them. The band members step in and out of the light for their lip sync.

Daryl Hall and John Oates - Jingle Bell Rocks

Hall & Oates are a pop music duo comprising Daryl Hall and John Oates. By the Autum of 1983, Hall & Oates were one of the biggest pop music acts in America.

They had five Number 1 singles to their credit, two consecutive Top 10 albums and were one of the biggest names on MTV.

A cover of the 1957 Bobby Helms classic 'Jingle Bell Rock' was recorded and released in time for Christmas 1983 in the US, complete with a humorous video of the band, that received extensive airplay on MTV. The single contained Daryl singing his version on one side and John's version on the flip side.

The sungle was released on Red and Green Vinyl as well as a 12 inch Picture Disc.
