Animotion - Strange Behavior - Album

Animotion released their 2nd album ' Strange Behavior' in 1986. Session keyboardist Greg Smith, who had played on the band's debut, became an official member of the band prior to the recording of the follow-up album, 'Strange Behavior', which also saw Jim Blair replacing O'Brien on the drum kit.

While several singles were released from this album, its success paled in comparison to the debut as it failed to chart in the UK and only making number 71 in the US Album Charts. However the album did better in europe by making it to number 19 in germany and number 21 in Switzerland.

Animotion - Let Him Go

'Let Him go' was animotions 2nd single. It followed the international hit 'Obsession'. this single did not do as well as their previous hit as it made it to number 39 in the US Billboard Hot 100 but only managed to make it to number 78 in the UK singles Chart.

Animotion originally had six members, four of whom (lead singler Astrid Plane, keyboardist Paul Antonelli, bassist Charles Ottavio, and drummer Frenchy O'Brien) had originally been members of the band Red Zone.

After the demise of that band, the four aforementioned members set about creating a new group. Lead singer / guitarist Bill Wadhams joined soon thereafter to co-front the new band with Plane.

After the formation of Animotion around this nucleus, lead guitarist Don Kirkpatrick was brought on board, completing the line-up. They released their self-titled debut album in 1984. The following year, a single from this album, 'Obsession' brought the band international success, making it to number 5 in the UK Singles Chart and became the band's first US Billboard Hot 100 Top Ten single. The follow-up single from this album, 'Let Him Go' also cracked the U.S. Top 40. but only made number 78 in the UK.

Animotion - Obsession

'Obsession' is a 1985 song recorded by New Wave synth-dance group Animotion. The song hit number six in the Uited states, and number five in the United Kingdom in early 1985, helped by a distinct video that received heavy rotation on MTV.

The song was originally written and recorded as a duet by songwriter Holly Knight and musician Michael Des barres in 1983, although the recording did not perform well. This version was prominently featured in the 1983 film A Night in Heaven, most notably in a scene in which a male stripper gyrates his crotch in Lesley Ann Warren's face in sync with the rhythm of the song.

The song was featured on the film's soundtrack, but did not receive enough attention to warrant much radio play or a place on any Billboard charts.

Now the songs more well known by Animotion and is still played today.
