Melissa Manchester was born in the Bronx area of New York city to a musical family of Jewish descent. Her father was a bassoonist for the New York Metropolitan Opera. Manchester started a singing career at an early age, learning the piano and harpsichord at the Manhattan School of Music and Arts, singing commercial jingles at age 15, and becoming a staff writer for Chappell Music while attending Manhattan's High School of Performing Arts.'Thief of Hearts' is From the 1984 film produced by Don Simpson and Jerry Bruckheimer. The song reached number 86 on the Billboard Hot 100 and number 18 on the US Adult Contemporary Chart. The dance version is remixed by legendary remixer John "Jellybean" Benitez. And the song was Produced by, Giorgio Moroder and Harold Faltermeyer. The single was not released in the UK but was released in Germany and Spain.
