Links Are Dead - I Know

I keep getting Emails from people asking me to re-upload the links and music etc. I think people are just getting to those particular pages so are not reading the reason for the dead links.

So I am putting this in place so hopefully people will read it and stop Emailing me about it.

The reason the links are dead is that my account with Media Fire has been closed with all 11,000 files lost. That is why you can not download the things and No I can not re-upload them.

Eventually I will start doing that again when I have found something suitable. In the meantime this blog will be information only blog.

Thank you all

Michaael

Martha and the Muffins - Echo Beach

‘Echo Beach’ was released in 1980 by the Canadian group Martha and the Muffins from their album ‘Metro Music’and backed with ‘Teddy the Dink’ as the B-side.

Although Mark Gane was not aware of a real "Echo Beach" when he wrote the song in 1978, several people wrote to him asking if it was about a beach in their local area. However, Echo Beach, as mentioned in the song, does not refer to a real beach but is rather a symbolic notion of somewhere the narrator would rather be, somewhere 'far away in time'. In reality, the song was thought of while Gane was working checking wallpaper for printing faults. He found this rather dull and his mind drifted to times he would rather be reliving. The single reached number 10 in the UK Singles Chart.

The song was covered by Toyah in 1987, reaching number number 54 in the UK Singles Chart as well as being released in Germany. A cover by Gabriella Cilmi is used as the theme tune for the British soap opera Echo Beach, first broadcast on the ITV1 network on 10 January 2008. It can be found as a bonus on the UK edition of her debut album ‘Lessons to be Learned’. In 2005, "Echo Beach" was named the 35th greatest Canadian song of all time on the CBC Radio One series 50 Tracks: The Canadian Version.
