'Geno' is a song by Dexys Midnight Runners which reached number 1 on the UK singles chart for two weeks in May 1980.
Written by Kevin 'Al' Archer and Kevin Rowland, Geno was the second single from Dexys Midnight Runners and their first number one. A tribute to soul singer Geno Washington, and performed in approximately the style of Geno Washington's Ram Jam Band, the song's classic soul stylings were at variance with the popular new wave and post punk sounds of the time.
The song was the first of two UK number one hit singles achieved by Dexys Midnight Runners. The second, two years later, was Come On Eileen.
The song featured in the first series of 2008 BBC Drama Ashes to Ashes, and was included in the subsequent soundtrack album.

Links Are Dead - I Know
I keep getting Emails from people asking me to re-upload the links and music etc. I think people are just getting to those particular pages so are not reading the reason for the dead links.
So I am putting this in place so hopefully people will read it and stop Emailing me about it.
The reason the links are dead is that my account with Media Fire has been closed with all 11,000 files lost. That is why you can not download the things and No I can not re-upload them.
Eventually I will start doing that again when I have found something suitable. In the meantime this blog will be information only blog.
Thank you all
Michaael
