'I.O.U.' is a song by the British group Freeez, who had their peak of success around the time of this song.The song had reached number 2 in the UK Singles Chart earlier in 1983 before reaching the top of the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart in the U.S., giving them their only chart-topping single on any chart in America.
The single went on to become the 20th best-selling single of 1983 in the United Kingdom. The song was remixed in 1987 and given a re-release in the UK for the Citybeat label, however, it only reached number 23 in the singles chart this time around.
