'Living on the Ceiling' is a song by Blancmange which appeared as the fifth track on their 1982 album Happy Families.It was released in 1982 as the third single from the album and became a surprise hit for the band, reaching number 7 on the UK charts and number 5 on the Australian Singles Chart (Kent Music Report).
Blancmange performed the song on Top of the Pops. However, for broadcast on BBC radio and Top of the Pops, the track was edited to replace the lyrics "Up the bloody tree" with "Up the cuckoo tree".)
A promotional video was made to accompany the song. The video seems to be set in Cairo.
