The single was written by Rob Van Schaick and Bernard Oates, who had a hit single called 'Say Yeah' themselves the same year under the name of 'The Limit'.

'Love Take Over' was a UK Top 30 success, peaking at number 25 and also at number 9 in the US Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.
